Combat with Unfriendlies part 2 - Sticking it to them (or Best damage types to use on NPCs)
As with the damage types you will often find that your shields, armour and hull can have avried resistances to the different damage types. Well what is true for players is true for the NPCs and usually there is a ‘best’ type of damage to use on them. Again this varies by faction but by and large the list below will describe whats best.
- Guristas - Kinetic damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Serpentis - Thermal damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Mordus - Thermal & Kinetic damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Blood - Thermal damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Sansha - Thermal damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Angel - Explosive damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Mercenary - Thermal damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
Whats true for the NPC pirate and mercenary factions is often true for the home factions too.
- Galente Navy - Explosive & Kinetic damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Caldari Fleet - Thermal & EM damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Amarran Fleet - Explosive & Kinetic damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
- Minmatar Fleet - EM & Thermal damage appears to be the best to use on their ships.
So I hope that these two posts helps cut down on some of the confusion and helps you as players survive a little bit longer and take a few more of those NPCs with you!
